Music
Music is my other biggest passion in life. I have been playing the saxophone since I was 10 years old and recently I started producing a couple of musical projects. I play sax, guitar and vocals in multiple musical projects, including my main bands Contando Bicicletas and Mattmatize (my solo project). Currently making the debut record for Mattmatize.
Throughout my university and professional life I jump at the chance to combine both my passion for design and for music – be that in personal projects or freelance design work (I’ve been hired to do things like concert posters and CD covers, and video editing for music videos). My proudest moment in this intersection of design and music is my final year project for my design major, where I created a musical-graphic interface that combines music, data visualization and interaction design called Da Capo. Read more about it here. I have continued working on Da Capo, and it has received accolades and been featured in multiple talks and presentations.
Below you’ll find music from my own projects, and music that I’ve produced, featured on, or even did video editing or cover art creation for. I hope you enjoy 🙂
